The Rimfire Buffalo is designed to give you back-and-forth action while reinforcing accurate shots with instant visual feedback. Two holes in the steel buffalo head plate make room for a rear swinging plate that swings from side to side when shot. Whether you’re a cowboy action shooter or you just have a thing for animal shapes, this target is guaranteed to make any day at the range more fun. The shooting surfaces of the Rimfire Buffalo are all made of 1/4" AR500 armor steel and are designed to take years of heavy use with .22 rimfire ammunition*. The rear swinging plate is easily installed without tools, and its no weld design means a longer product life and a much smaller chance of breaking. The provided PT Practice Stand also makes the Rimfire Buffalo easily portable with a collapsible base and convenient carrying handle. FAQs Can I shoot my rimfire .17 HMR on this target?: While the .17 HMR is a rimfire round, its velocity is too great for the reactive mechanisms of the target. This target is designed for .22 rimfire ammunition only. Can I shoot centerfire handgun rounds on this target?: While this target is made of 1/4" AR500 armor steel which can withstand the force of a centerfire handgun round, shooting it with more powerful rounds will cause it to wear out quickly and cause the reactive features of the target to malfunction. Is the entire target made of armor steel?: The target head, reactive swinging plate, and rear brackets are all made of AR500 armor steel. The rear brackets are made of armor steel to withstand the wear and tear from the friction of the reactive swinging plate. The stand is made of mild steel, but is designed to effectively shed bullets. Why is the target head angled?: All of Action Target’s steel target heads are slanted downward to deflect the majority of bullet splatter toward the feet of the target.
